There has been an amazingly dramatic increase in the frequency of anaphylactic reactions to foods in children, especially to peanut. Egg white, shellfish and milk are also more common culprits. It is essential that these kids have available an Epipen Junior (adrenaline injection) in case of a crisis. Overall there has been a 12-fold increase in food allergies in children over the last decade or so. These are due to misregulation of the IS, probably mainly due to viruses and chemicals (in and on foods, and environmental).
